System is off Dave newly released album which he teamed up with Made In Lagos crooner Wizkid who just bang Grammy Award.
British top rated rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor Dave finally released his most highly anticipated album which he tagged as “We’re All In This Together” on this album he featured just 5 artiste from the likes of Wizkid – he is a Nigerian top rated Afrobeats singer and songwriter who just dropped one of the most accepted and popular album last year which he called “Made In Lagos” Dave also teamed up with Stormzy, Boj, Snoh Aalagra and James Blake.
Grand returns are the perfect remedies for lengthy breaks, and Dave provides one on his latest single, “Clash,” with Stormzy. Carried by repetitive, haunting piano, the British rappers step through the curtain with egotistic proclamations that flex their respective riches. “I’m so close to my pension, my left wrist is sixty-one,” Dave raps slyly before the 27-year-old Stormzy matches his energy saying, “Rollies, got twenty-one, I been lit since twenty-one.” Elsewhere, the pair send sharp attacks to their competition, with Dave taking an indirect approach as opposed to Stormzy, who makes several references to his long-standing beef with British rapper, Chip. With Dave’s second album, We’re All Alone in This Together, locked in for a July 23 release, “Clash” is the perfect track to seize our attention for what’s next.
With artists releasing songs at a fast and furious pace, it’s difficult for the average hip-hop head to keep track of it all—no matter how tapped in they are. That’s why we created The Ones, a daily post to highlight the song you need to hear.
Two years following Dave’s debut, Psychodrama, the U.K. rapper has finally spoken about its follow-up. He took to social media this morning and announced We’re All Alone In This Together, accompanied by its release date and cover art. Back in March, the Brit Award winner did mention that he intends to start his new project after taking a vacation with Fredo.
The project will follow up his critically acclaimed debut release Psychodrama which went on to win numerous awards including the coveted Album of the Year prize at the BRIT Awards and the Mercury Prize. Just recently, Dave teased fans with the release of two new tracks titled “Titanium” and “Mercury”. WE’RE ALL ALONE IN THIS TOGETHER will be released on the 23rd of July and Dave’s website offers fans pre-order bundles in the form of cassette tapes and other merchandise.
Aside from hinting at new material with Stormzy dropping July 9 on his Instagram, Santan has been quiet since releasing a pair of surprise tracks, “Titanium” and “Mercury,” in mid-April. That same month, he was seen with Drake, Giggs, Not3s, as well as Snowfall actor Damson Idris getting dinner out in Beverly Hills. Aside from Drake, these U.K. artists are all constant collaborators, though the Canadian has definitely managed to have his hand in there as well.
After Psychodrama’s tremendous success and a mysterious wave of silence over the past few years, Santan Dave seems set to put forth a project well worth the wait, especially if those two recent singles have anything to say about it. Dave has gained acclaim for his socially conscious lyricism and wordplay, and is among the most recognised British rappers.
