In a late-night stream on Monday, journalist Gerard Romero issued several updates about Barcelona’s dealings in the remainder of the transfer window.
With a busy couple of weeks ahead, the Catalans still need to try and find some space in their budget, with the likes of Inigo Martinez and Marcos Alonso still yet to be registered.
With two games of the La Liga campaign over, Barcelona still need to try and finalise some departures if they are to head into September with their full roster, let alone making any new signings.
Question marks over Fati, Abde and Alonso
In their bid to free up space in the wage bill, the Catalans have not ruled out the sales of even some of their prized young talents.
Marcos Alonso, who is yet to be registered for the new season signed a new one-year extension earlier in the year but the player is still on the market and if a valuable enough offer were to come in, the club would certainly consider selling.
There were reports earlier that Alonso has an offer from the Premier League on the table, but there seems to be no movement as of yet.
Ez Abde seems to have convinced Xavi of his quality and has been reintegrated into the first team dynamics, with a genuine chance of starting games.
However, Romero also says that there is interest in the Moroccan winger, with a Serie A team even willing to pay 20 million euros for him.
And not least, Ansy Fati also seems to be oscillating between the chopping block and safety.
Although Xavi and vice president Rafa Yuste have claimed that he is still an integral part of the club’s future, they don’t seem willing to entirely rule out a departure for the no10 either.
