Album : Kanye West – DONDA Download
As we reported a day ago, There’s been a few delays but it appears that Kanye West will finally be releasing his long-awaited 10th studio album, DONDA. Named after his late mother, Kanye West has been hard at work in recent times putting the final touches on the album. A few of his close associates have offered updates while ‘Ye has maintained a relatively low profile ever since it was reported that he and Kim Kardashian were calling it quits. Kanye was in the studio with Tyler, The Creator recently, footage of which was shared by Consequence. In the clip, we could see a whiteboard in the background with a track listing for his long delayed album, DONDA. Some new titles like ‘Remote’, ‘Daylight’, ‘Jonah’ and more were seen which were not mentioned on the track list unveiled by the rapper last year. Rumors then surfaced on Saturday that Kanye was holding a private listening event for the album in Las Vegas where no cellphones were allowed. It looks like the reports were true.
Yeezy Season is upon us, yet again. Kanye West is about to drop his tenth studio album, Donda. The album follows his gospel project Jesus Is King, which was released in October 2019.
Kanye West has been known to break his own promises when it comes to album release dates, of course, but there are many clues that suggest the album will actually arrive very soon. Though ‘Ye has been tight-lipped about his album, showing up to public events in a mask and not speaking at all, folks in his corner have been dropping hints about the project ahead of his Friday release. And according to whispers from those who have heard it, Donda is shaping up to be a good one.
As you anxiously await the arrival of Kanye’s new album, check out this breakdown of everything we know about Donda so far.
It’s called ‘Donda’
Kanye’s forthcoming album has gone through many title changes over the years. In a live conversation between video artist Arthur Jafa and French fashion designer Michèle Lamy, Jafa mentioned that he directed Kanye’s “Wash Us In Blood” music video for his new project called God’s Country. In June 2021, Kanye’s manager Abou “Bu” Thiam teased the upcoming album on Instagram, writing “WestDayEver.” Some fans speculated West Day Ever had become the new title, but as of most recently, it appears he has returned to Donda. However, an official press release from Def Jam later confirmed it’s called Donda. Members of Kanye’s inner circle, including Pusha-T, have also shared promotional material featuring the words: “Kanye West Presents Donda.”
If you notice carefully, some of the titles remain the same from the last tracklist that he had revealed back in July, 2020. At that time, ‘Ye had announced that the album would be releasing on July 24th but we never heard anything about it after that until later in the month when he showed us the artwork. The rollout is in full effect for Kanye West, who continues to mysteriously tease his tenth studio album. Holding a secret listening party in Las Vegas this weekend, hundreds of fans and music journalists got a chance to hear Kanye’s upcoming new album, which reportedly features Travis Scott, Baby Keem, Future, Lil Baby, Griselda, and more.
Apparently, that wasn’t the only release party that Kanye has planned for this era. There are invites being sent for an upcoming event at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on June 22, which seemingly includes the potential album cover for Donda, which is expected to release this week. Although it was initially believed that the design was made by North West, it was later revealed that Louise Bourgeois is the artist behind the cover. She started making art to work through the trauma of losing her mother at a young age, and one of her most famous pieces has been transformed and remixed into Kanye’s artwork.
Peep the titles seen on the whiteboard in the Instagram post above. In March, Kanye’s close collaborator CyHi had revealed that work on DONDA had resumed after being stalled due to Kanye’s divorce with Kim Kardashian. Tyler has been the talk of the town after registering huge sales with his latest, number 1 album Call Me If You Get Lost which has assistance from DJ Drama. We still have no clue when Kanye will decide to release DONDA to the world but this new development definitely gets our hopes up.
During a May 2020 Instagram Live interview, cinematographer Arthur Jafa revealed that he and Kanye were working together on a video. He also mentioned that Ye was preparing for the release of an album called God’s Country. On June 30, Kanye released the album’s first single, “Wash Us in the Blood.” He also confirmed that the album’s title would be God’s Country in a tweet, but the name underwent another change.
On July 12, his mother’s birthday, Kanye previewed a portion of the title track, “DONDA,” on Twitter. On July 18, Kanye tweeted the album’s tracklist, new title, and release date; he deleted the tweet within minutes. On July 21, Kanye tweeted yet another title and tracklist, saying: “DONDA: WITH CHILD new album and movie this Friday. On July 25, one day after the album was scheduled to release, Kanye tweeted the cover art with the following caption: “DONDA ALBM CVR”
