Done Deal : PSG offer €34 million contract to Barcelona best winger, final decision expected in 20 days
Ousmane Dembele is gearing up for an important few weeks ahead. With his contract at Camp Nou expiring at the end of the season, his entourage is locked in negotiations with Barcelona over a new deal.
At the same time, the winger is starting to receive offers from other top clubs across Europe as they look to lure the Frenchman away from Catalonia.
Reputed Spanish journalist Toni Juanmarti has offered an update on the future of Dembele, suggesting the forward has already received a staggering €34 million gross (€17 million net) per season offer from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Parisian juggernaut are determined to bring the explosive winger back to French shores and are even willing to hand him a lucrative signing bonus.
Dembele, though, is yet to respond to this offer. It has prompted the club to put pressure on the player to make a decision as we approach the final phase of the campaign.
PSG’s interest in Dembele goes long back. The recently crowned Ligue 1 champions were in contention to sign the player in January, but a move did not materialise as he wanted to play out his contract at Barcelona.
However, a lot has happened over the past three months, with the Frenchman now emerging as one of the most important players for Barcelona. He has an excellent relationship with Xavi Hernandez, who is determined to keep hold of his services.
Dembele’s impressive performances at Barcelona have now compelled the player to favour a prolonged stay at Camp Nou. As such, he has appeared apprehensive about responding to offers from other clubs.
His agent, as mentioned earlier, remains in contact with the Barcelona bosses over a new contract. Juanmarti claims the winger’s future could be resolved in 20 days, with the player’s camp awaiting one final offer from the Barça board.
